The physics building is a 5 mins walk away from the city train station 'Adlershof'.
Just follow the crowd through the construction zone. Then walk straight on
till you see the building set back about 300 m on the right.
Airport Schönefeld (SXF) - Adlershof
Walk to the city train station 'Schönefeld'.
You can't miss it, just follow the crowds - 5 min - use the the walkway on the left)
S-Bahn (S9) leaves from 3:53 till 1:13 every 20 mins
The train back leaves also every 20 mins also :13 :33 and :53
Ticket:
a short trip ticket (€ 1,30) brings you to 'Adlerhof'
to the hotel you need a normal ticket BC (€ 2,50 - you have to change to Tram in Adlerhof)
Airport Tegel (TXL) - Adlershof
The airport shuttle bus "TXL" stops directly before the terminal.
Take it and go to the city train station 'Beusselstrasse'.
The bus leaves every 20 mins (:06 :26 :46) and needs 8 mins.
Here you change to city train S41 and go to 'Treptower Park' and
change again for the S8 which will bring you to 'Adlershof'
All together it will take an hour, but don't think a Taxi can get you there faster...
In Berlin a Taxi is normally no option.
The way back takes about the same time.
Ticket:
you need a normal ticket AB (€ 2,10 - valid for 2 hours)
Adlershof - Hotel
Due to the reconstruction work in 'Adlershof the tram stops
right in the middle of the cross road.
You can take the 60 or 61. Every 10 mins a Tram is leaving.
The 5 stops till 'Köllnischer Platz' take about 8 mins.
The hotel is 300 m from here - half right seen in direction of the tram.
Ticket:
a short trip ticket (€ 1,30) is good for this trip
If you have your normal ticket (AB and BC are both good here) thats enough.
Berlin has three concentric zones of public transportation:
A - centre, B - outer city (including our campus) and C - outside the city (SXF belongs here)
A normal ticket is valid 2 hours ...you can get tickets AB (2,10), BC (2,50) and ABC (2,80).
A short trip has 3 stops with city train or subway in maximum or 6 stops with bus or tram in max
and is valid one way only.
